Alan Mark Grayson (born March 13, 1958) is an American politician who was the United States Representative for Florida's 9th congressional district and a member of the Democratic Party. He previously served as Representative for Florida's 8th congressional district from 2009 to 2011.
On July 9, 2015, Grayson announced his intention to run in the United States Senate election in Florida, 2016. He was defeated 59%-18% in the Democratic primary by fellow Representative Patrick Murphy, who went on to lose the general election to incumbent Marco Rubio.
On May 6, 2018 Grayson announced his intention to run in the 2018 election for Florida's 9th Congressional District.
