SOMALI'S ISLAMIST MILITANT GROUP AL SHABAB ENTERS KENYAN VILLAGE

Residents say Islamist militant group, Al-Shabab has entered a remote village in the north eastern Kenya despite the fact that there is a military base 15km away.

Schools have been shut and hundreds of people have fled the village of Warankara.
Al-Shabab had said it will take the war to Kenya and last month they invaded Yumbis town but withdrew without a fight.
Residents of Warankara say that the militants have been patrolling the village but have not harmed anybody.
Bilow Adan Kero a senator of the area said he had gotten such reports from the village and urges government to take urgent steps to curb the insurgency.
