Do you have a collection? If so.. what is it? Please share! I have.. a few.. :-D Candlesticks.. check. My daughter Amy sent me the tall barley twist candles a few years ago and I adore them. I recently saw a photo in one of my Country Living magazines of a table with several different barley twist candlesticks on it and of course I thought.. wouldn't my table look nice with a few more? Off to eBay and Etsy.. look look.. ooh.. ahh.. bingo, a set of very reasonable price. They were obviously antique, dirty and dry and a big bunged up. They arrived yesterday and I set to cleaning one and rubbing it with Howard's Feed-N-Wax made with beeswax, carnauba wax and orange oil. After cleaning one I thought I'd show you a before and after.

It was so neat to see the wood soak up the oil and wax and shine.. the grain of the wood shone.

Here is what I used on my candlesticks, I also use it for my wood spinning wheels and other wood pieces of furniture.
The painting project continues, this is the front porch. Our son's friend, who is helping us paint, brought his girlfriend yesterday so 4 of them were working on the house.
I am working on a writing project - my memories of the beginnings of the Friends of Vista House. I was given a box of old reports I did in the beginning of the project and on the cover of one I did this drawing. I was happy to have it back and scanned it. It was fun to see it again.
I would like to thank you all for your support when I told the story of the man who was threatening to me. I am okay, but when someone tells you you should be killed.. it does stick in your mind. But I will not let the poison from that man lessen my fervor to RESIST when I see things happening in our country that will harm the old, the infirm, the poor, the sick and the children. I will continue to speak out and to do my best to stand up for those who need my support.
